We have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Engineer for Gateway Lab Operations GRAIL to join the team with Nexus, a teammate company.

The Chief Engineer for Gateway Lab Operations GRAIL will:

• The Chief Engineer will be the expert supporting the GRAIL (Gateway Ready Avionics Integration Lab),a critical testing facility of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon

• Chief expertise on facility and emulator design fidelity

• Chief expertise on development and integration of high-fidelity avionic hardware and software integration of the lab

• Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents

• Review integrated analysis of the GRAIL system, hardware and software in relation to other Gateway Systems and the operational environment

• Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews

• Review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall facility design and performance to inform decision making

• Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses with mitigation strategies

• Work and present lab fidelity to customers and boards/panels

• Perform other duties as required

• Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment ​

Requisition Qualifications:

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related area and normally possess 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

• On location position - situational telework only

• Past experience in development and integration of a high-fidelity integration lab

• Understanding of electrical, mechanical and power systems

• Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision

• Experience working in a team environment​

Requisition Preferences:

• BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school

• Past experience with NASA

• Past experience with Avionics is a plus ​
