Surgical Technologist I

Position Overview: Join our dedicated team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, a top health care provider renowned for its exceptional surgical services. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Surgical Technologist I for our General Specialty evening shifts. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the operating room and be part of a dynamic team that provides innovative patient care.
Compensation and Benefits: Experience a comprehensive suite of Total Rewards, including competitive pay ranging from $26.10 to $39.15 per hour, with eligibility for additional bonuses and incentives. Schedule: This is a full-time position with evening shifts (8 or 10 hours). You will also participate in on-call rotations, with an expectation to arrive within 30 minutes if called.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures.
- Assist with gowning and gloving, draping surgical areas, and providing instruments and supplies.
- Function effectively as a Second Assistant when needed and handle equipment setup and disassembly.
- Monitor for any issues regarding supplies or equipment and assist in transporting patients and materials.
- Maintain special carts and ensure all items are complete and sterile.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic techniques and various surgical procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and act effectively under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of hire.
- No previous experience required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with basic computer proficiency.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, and perform various movements required in the surgical environment. Must be able to wear protective equipment as necessary and adapt to a fast-paced, high-stress setting.
