JOB DESCRIPTION: CARPENTER
Job Location: Tampa, FL.
Hutco Branch: Tampa, FL.
Rate of Pay: $17 to $25 per hour and $120 Daily Per Diem for those who qualify
General Description:
Unless otherwise defined by applicable law, any employment relationship with this organization is of an "at-will" nature, which means that the Employee may resign at any time and the Employer may discharge Employee at any time with or without cause.
Fabricates, assembles, and installs wooden furnishings, in ships or boats using various machines and hand / power tools such as table saw, planer, joiner, saver saw, skill saw, drill motors, staple gun, stud driver, caulking gun, chisels, hammer, and handsaw.
Loads and unloads lumber / plywood for transport and storage. Constructs scaffolding, walls, overhead paneling and builds bunks, locker, galley counters, vanity heads, doors, trimming, consoles for electronic equipment, sashes, molding, etc.
Essential Functions:
The individual assigned to this position must, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to perform the following Essential Functions:
Comprehend all material safety data sheets.
Manipulate and transport loads up to 50 pounds over distances of
up to 200 feet, approximately 1 to 6 times during each 8 hour shift.
Manipulate and operate all machines and power / hand tools essential
to the performance of the position of Shipwright.
Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.
Traverse and negotiate uneven heights between dock and vessel.
Traverse and negotiate uneven surfaces.
Ascend and work at heights.
Stooping, squatting, twisting, and kneeling.
