Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Tax Associate to join their growing tax practice in New York. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex transactional tax matters, including M&A, fund formation, and renewable energy projects. You will be advising clients on cross-border and domestic mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions, while also working with investment partnerships and their portfolio companies.
They are looking for you, a skilled Tax Associate, to join their collaborative team and provide top-tier legal advice on transactional tax matters for a diverse client base.
What you get to do:
- Advise clients on merger and acquisition transactions, debt and financing transactions, and portfolio investments.
- Design and implement tax-efficient structures for joint ventures and a variety of corporate transactions.
- Provide state tax planning advice and manage tax-related aspects of transactions for domestic and cross-border deals.
- Work closely with clients in the energy and real estate sectors, and handle international taxation issues.
- Collaborate with a team of professionals on complex tax engagements and work approximately 60% in-office to foster collaboration.
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school, with an LLM in tax preferred.
- Admission (or eligibility for admission) to the New York Bar.
- At least 4 years of experience in transactional tax, focusing on corporate transactions and partnership taxation in a law firm environment.
- Strong background in energy, real estate, and international taxation is preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Competitive salary range of $295,000 - $345,000, with bonus eligibility.
