Join the team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin, recognized nationally for our innovative care. We are looking for a passionate Surgical Technologist I to assist in our Operating Room, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients.

Position Summary: As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a crucial role in preparing and managing surgical equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques, and supporting the surgical team during procedures. Your attention to detail and ability to thrive in fast-paced scenarios will be key to providing optimal patient care.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the surgical area, ensuring cleanliness and sterility.
  • Assist in surgical procedures by passing instruments and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
  • Operate various types of equipment during surgeries and ensure all materials are ready for each case.
  • Transport patients and equipment to ensure efficient room turnover.
  • Maintain specialty carts, ensuring all items are complete and in working condition.
  • Provide care that is appropriate for the age of patients, understanding each patient's needs.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Education: Must have completed an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; we welcome new graduates and those looking to build their careers.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, excellent interpersonal skills, and basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements: This role requires lifting, pushing, and maneuvering patients and equipment. You should be able to operate essential equipment and handle the stresses of a busy operating room environment.
