The Custodian reports directly to the Director of maintenance and is responsible for managing all aspects of custodian cleaning and maintaining to support the school. This individual is in charge of providing a clean environment for all students and staff. This is a full-time position, primarily Monday-Friday role although in rare circumstances, the employee may be required to work weekends as needed.

Key duties and responsibilities
Custodial Work
- Maintain a vigilant attitude to removing trash, debris, or misplaced items from Eden campus
- Ensure all desks, chairs, and surfaces in each classroom are wiped down and clean each day
- Clean gym floors, hallways, and stairways
- Wipe all lunchroom tables, chairs and floor. Ensure a clean area for children to eat.
- Sanitize building, as needed
- Complete deep cleaning during break periods and over the summer
- Rearrange classroom and lunchrooms, as needed
- Assist the Director of Maintenance to ensure that custodial supplies are always available at each campus
- Help Director of Maintenance, as needed
- Maintain communication with all Director of Maintenance and Chief Operating Officer on any needs or concerns
- Maintain professional communication with Eden staff and leadership through phone, email and in person
Physical Requirements to Fulfill the Essential Functions of this Job
- Prolonged periods of standing, moving, and engaging in physically demanding work.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Move about classrooms, gym facilities and fields.
- Have the ability to quickly summon help when an emergency arises either in the gymnasiums or on the athletic fields.
- Have a mature relationship with Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior and be active in an evangelical church.
- Be a Christ-like model for students in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40)
- Be supportive of the school's mission and doctrinal statements.
- Acceptable PA DOE employment clearances dated within one year: FBI Fingerprint/ Act 114 Federal Criminal Background Check (Identogo Service Code 1KG6TR), Act 151 State Child Abuse Background Report, and Act 34 PA State Police Background Clearance.
- Basic personal computer skills (Gmail, Word, Excel).
- Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
- Have 1-2 years of experience custodial experience preferred, preferably in scholastic settings.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with professionalism and excellence
- Ability to take direction, correction, and training from others
- Salary commensurate with qualifications.
