Job Summary

The Business Applications Specialist is responsible for combining business knowledge, clinical workflow, and data analysis within a continuous financial and process improvement framework. The Business Applications Specialist performs a variety of simple and complex activities to provide CAMC business entities with insights to maintain, improve or transform the business and technology framework.
Responsible for application support and implementation within the Information Services Department. Demonstrates elevated computer operational skills. Should be able to perform difficult application diagnostics and troubleshooting. Must be able to mentor more junior level staff on departmental procedure and application support and/or implementation procedures. Understand and promote all IT services available to the organization. Demonstrates and the ability to follow I/S Departmental and CAMC Organizational governance commitments including (but not limited to) ticket management, training, testing, implementing, and validating service requests and/or requested modifications through the departments change control process. Promote the departments' services within the organization as well as develop Informatics practices to ensure departmental quality and process measurements are included.

Demonstrates a basic understanding and adheres to departmental processes for change control. Maintains a level of cybersecurity knowledge sufficient to securely accomplish their job duties.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinates and Assists users and IT personnel with training and development of user documentation.
2. Develops system design, including functional specifications, and implements strategies based upon the analysis of specific operational needs.
3. Evaluates, designs, builds, tests, and implements custom or vendor supplied software and develops system-wide reports to support information management needs.
4. Maintains production systems to ensure reliable performance.
5. Prepares complete unit, system, and integrated test plans and test methodologies.
6. Provides day-to-day operations support to customers as required.
7. Coordinates efforts between stakeholders from multiple areas in order to gather requirements, develop technical specifications, and test enhancements and other changes to these systems.
8. Identifies data integrity issues and analyzes data and process flows for process improvement opportunities.
9. Develops & Performs data analysis in order to extract requirements, identify data inaccuracies, and ensure accurate processing and reporting.
10. Identifies policies and requirements that drive a specific solution.
11. Works effectively on project teams and meets deadlines in accordance to project manager's expectations.
12. Works with stakeholders to build, test and maintain integration points with multiple vendor solutions
13. Utilizes detailed instructions to perform routine support and implementation work.
14. Utilizes appropriate and timely communication skills within assigned team.
15. Must have appropriate and timely communications skills to communicate with senior level management.
16. Completed certification/accreditation for specific vendor and/or governing body related to specific applications/tools for which responsibility is held for support.
17. Participates in contract review process, which will include initial vendor contact and contract review prior to delivering to management for further review, negotiation, and execution.
18. On call as required.
19. Flexible hours when needed.
20. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Education
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Education: Bachelor's Degree and Advanced Certifications or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Health Administration, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field Master's Degree and Advanced Certifications preferredExperience: 10 years of related information technology, financial systems support, and/or related business/healthcare experience
