Responsibilities

Design, document, and improve assembly, and test processes, tooling, and work instructions.

Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

Conduct time studies and ergonomic assessments to improve workflow efficiency.
-
Provide daily technical support to assembly teams to resolve production issues.
-
Train manufacturing and assembly technicians on new processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
-
Maintain accurate documentation for assembly processes, including work instructions, SOPs, and checklists.
-
Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of new products.
-
Develop assembly plans, tools, and equipment for new product launches.
-
Specify, design, and procure jigs, fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment.
-
Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
-
Work with suppliers to develop custom solutions for production needs.
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S.
Essential Skills
-
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
-
2+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly engineering.
-
Strong understanding of assembly processes, tooling design, and manufacturing workflows.
-
Proficiency in CAD software (NX CAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
-
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
-
Project management skills to coordinate process and quality improvement initiatives.
-
Knowledge of safety regulations and manufacturing standards (OSHA, ISO, 3A, etc.).

This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
