- The Phlebotomist I supports patient care by greeting patients, answering questions with compassion, and maintaining the integrity of the waiting area.
- This role involves direct interaction with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures clearly and respectfully.
- The individual will assist with lobby operations, support phlebotomy staff during breaks, and receive training to develop phlebotomy skills.
- Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and professional environment, completing documentation accurately, and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, and coworkers.
- Ability to handle patients with care and compassion.
- Ability to assist with check-ins using a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
- Willingness to learn phlebotomy skills.
- Commitment to perform specimen collection and processing duties once trained.
- Strong customer service experience and skills.
- 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- No prior phlebotomy experience required.
- Greet patients and support them through the check-in process.
- Maintain the lobby and support patient flow.
- Assist with breaks when phlebotomists are unavailable.
- Learn and develop phlebotomy skills.
- Maintain documentation and records.
- Support a safe and professional work environment.
- Promote a positive and professional image to patients and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
