Schedule/Hours: Full-time evening shift, with 8 or 10-hour shifts. Monday to Friday plus on-call duties, primarily overnight and some weekends.

Job Description:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient surgical area using aseptic techniques for optimal patient care.
  • Assist with various surgical procedures and maintain knowledge of standards.
  • Set up each operating room case and disassemble post-procedure while ensuring environmental hygiene.
  • Act as a Second Assistant when required.
  • Communicate equipment and supply issues promptly.
  • Transport patients and equipment safely.
  • Maintain specialty carts, checking equipment functionality and sterility.
  • Understand the specific care needs of patients of all ages.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 6 months.

Education Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Experience Required:

  • No prior experience is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry between 40-50 lbs.
  • Push/pull ability of 30 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and bending during the shift.
  • Exposure to various hazards including mechanical and chemical.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment is required.
