Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles, load and unload goods onto the vehicle, ensuring proper securing of items for transportation.
  • Follow delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers and destinations.
  • Greet customers in a courteous and professional manner upon delivery, verifying order accuracy and completeness when applicable.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and special requests in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Perform routine inspections of delivery vehicles, checking for proper functioning, cleanliness, and maintenance needs.
  • Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs promptly to the Shipping and Transportation Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, delivery confirmations, and any discrepancies encountered during the delivery process.
  • Complete required paperwork, logbooks, and documentation related to deliveries and mileage.
  • Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating the delivery vehicle.
  • Ensure that all necessary safety equipment is in place, functional, and utilized during deliveries.
  • Perform cross-state/interstate deliveries, adhering to state-specific regulations and driving guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with the distribution center team, providing updates on delivery progress, delays, and any issues encountered.
  • Assist in tracking and managing inventory levels in the delivery vehicle, ensuring that products are properly organized and secured.
  • Able to work flexible schedules and extra time with little advanced notice.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local roads, routes, and navigation tools.
  • Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and obey state driving laws.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ethical conduct.
  • Able to perform loading, unloading, and delivery tasks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling paperwork and documentation.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle inspections and troubleshooting.
