Dearborn, MI

Epitec is seeking an experienced CAE Engineer to join our automotive client's team. As a CAE Engineer, the candidate will play a pivotal role in the overall vehicle thermal system sign-off including Wind Tunnel Testing and Road Development Testing.

Top Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with propulsion teams (ICE/xEV) to develop climate control calibration parameters.
  • Work with Dual Automatic Temperature Control team on calibration development.
  • Ensure hardware components and subsystems meet climate performance requirements.
  • Analyze test data to confirm vehicle performance and compliance with requirements.
  • Troubleshoot performance gaps and propose corrective solutions.
  • Apply Thermal/Cabin System CAE tools for A/C, heater, and battery thermal simulations.
  • Plan and execute vehicle wind tunnel and road trip testing to meet program milestones.
  • Implement climate control comfort strategies across programs.
  • Document and incorporate lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 1+ years in vehicle-level attribute development or testing (3+ years preferred in automotive climate control systems).
  • Strong understanding of Climate Control refrigerant and air handling systems and their interaction with ICE/xEV systems.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using tools like ATI Vision, INCA, CANape, Excel.
  • Familiarity with test planning and data acquisition tools.
  • Knowledge of powertrain calibration methods, software integration tools (CANoe, CANalyzer), and automotive communication standards (CAN/CAN-FD/Ethernet).
