The AI Tools team focuses on accelerating the integration of AI and automated workflows for engineers at Coinbase. We provide high-quality tools and foundational elements that allow teams to enhance productivity across the engineering lifecycle. Our goal is to evolve successful AI projects into robust enterprise solutions, making AI an essential partner for every engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative infrastructure and tools that enhance AI-driven developer workflows.
• Design and implement autonomous AI agents that seamlessly integrate with essential tools like GitHub, Slack, Linear, and Figma.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to deliver AI solutions that significantly enhance developer productivity and redefine their experiences.
• Rapidly prototype, iterate, and optimize for real-world performance, scalability, and user satisfaction.
• Create and distribute powerful AI solutions via user-friendly SDKs, APIs, and intuitive interfaces.

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript/Node.
• Experience in orchestrating AI agents and automating workflows.
• Familiarity with observability tools for AI/ML systems.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD processes.
• Ability to prototype quickly and deliver production-ready code efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in deploying agent-based workflows or building LLM-powered systems.
• Contributions to open-source AI or agent frameworks.
• Integration of AI technologies into widely-used development and collaboration tools.
• Experience in startups or launching new products from the ground up.
• Deep understanding of reasoning, planning, and memory architectures in autonomous agents.

Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual salary for this position varies based on location and may range as detailed below. Full-time offers at Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity options, and comprehensive benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).

Pay Range: $186,065 - $218,900 USD.
