SUMMARY

This role is crucial for ensuring the effective use of the GRC tool across the Bank with a focus on access management, report creation, data accuracy governance, and user experience delivery.

The Risk Analyst II plays a key role in the second line of defense partnering with the first line of defense to promote understanding and adherence to Enterprise Risk Management policies, frameworks, and regulatory requirements. This position supports the execution of Risk Management Programs (Operational Risk, Risk Governance, Third Party Risk, Corporate Risk, or Business Resiliency) within the broader Enterprise Risk Management organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitates components of the program framework, developing processes and procedures, managing risk events and reporting, and conducting business risk assessments to ensure compliance and strengthen risk governance.
  • Collaborates with senior risk officers, program managers, and business leaders to assess, monitor, and report on risks across the enterprise.
  • Promotes a robust risk-aware culture and resolves complex risk issues by applying foundational risk management principles and practices.
  • Supports the execution and continuous improvement of enterprise and risk management programs within the second line of defense.
  • Partners with first line of defense teams and business units to gather, assess, and validate risk and control data across various business processes.
  • Facilitates and documents risk registers specific to the risk program including identifying control gaps, validating risk scores, and tracking remediation efforts.
  • Coordinates and supports the root cause analysis and reporting of risk events to ensure timely issue resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborates with risk officers and leadership to generate and deliver periodic risk reports and dashboards for leadership and committee reporting.
  • Contributes to the development, maintenance, and communication of risk policies, standards, and procedural guidance.
  • Leads or assists in cross-functional risk assessments to provide a holistic, enterprise-level view of operational risks.
  • Assists senior management in the integration of risk management into strategic decision-making and planning activities.
  • Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and industry risk trends to inform risk program enhancements and ensure compliance alignment.
  • Develops and maintains accurate documentation and reporting deliverables using Microsoft Office Suite tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Organizes risk meetings, workshops, and presentations in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Intermediate knowledge and 2+ years of experience of risk management principles including the three lines of defense model, identifying and documenting risks and controls, and other risk fundamentals.
  • Ability to lead projects and present information to large stakeholder groups to support operational risk program needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with colleagues.
  • Strong prioritization skills and adaptability under pressure.
  • Attention to detail, especially in time-sensitive situations.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills in order to interface in person and via telephone.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and to prioritize projects/responsibilities.
  • Must be flexible as priorities change and as needs arise to assist other department colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail are required.
  • Ability to properly prioritize workload and remain adaptable under pressure.
  • Computer skills are essential.
  • Computer experience with PowerPoint is a must; Internet, Word and Excel are required.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail required, especially in time-sensitive and pressure situations.
  • Self-driven/motivated and committed to ensuring that our clients always come first.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • 4-6 years of banking experience preferred
