Overview: MV Transportation is seeking a dynamic Transportation Operations Manager to lead and support the operations of our transportation contracts. This role is critical for ensuring that our annual business plans are delivered successfully. The manager will oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while maintaining high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the transportation service.
  • Be available and responsive to agency-related requests via mobile phone, email, or messaging at all times.
  • Ensure operations meet agency objectives, responding effectively to emergencies.
  • Regularly evaluate and update employee training programs based on changes to laws and practices.
  • Manage customer relations through direct communication and proactive outreach programs.
  • Identify, select, train, and mentor the location staff.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and support teams.
  • Oversee the vehicle maintenance plan to ensure fleet availability.
  • Manage safety and training programs to comply with all requirements.
  • Maintain regular client contact to meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Conduct periodic departmental audits.
  • Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Continuously manage financial metrics; report exceptions and develop action plans.
  • Implement and promote adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Engage with the bridges committee to promote positive policy changes.
  • Participate in labor and employee relations activities.
  • Provide insights to support contract renewals.
  • Develop and present annual budgets for the location.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent business management experience.
  • A minimum of five years in operations management, with at least seven years in a supervisory role within a transit environment.
  • At least five years' experience in ADA paratransit operations.
  • Possession of a Transit and Paratransit Management certificate or equivalent.
  • Expertise in labor/union negotiations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of dispatch, scheduling, recruitment, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Strong skills in MS Office, analytical tasks, and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on contract needs.

Starting salary range: $126,000 - $145,000
