Job Summary
We are looking for a Vice President, Data Science and Analytics to join our Technology Leadership team. This role will be responsible for driving Alto Pharmacy and Fuze Rx's data science vision, leading our analytics strategy, and building a scalable, high-performing data function that powers smarter decisions and more personalized patient care.

- Lead the development and execution of Alto's data science, analytics, DevSecOps, and AI strategy in close partnership with the CTO and other executive leaders.
- Build and lead high-performing teams across data science, data engineering, business intelligence, and analytics functions.
- Establish and maintain a unified data platform, ensuring data accessibility, quality, and governance across the organization.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Growth teams to enable data-driven decisions that improve patient experience, operational efficiency, and clinical outcomes.
- Advance our use of machine learning and AI to optimize logistics, personalize patient engagement, and drive predictive insights across the business.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in data science, data engineering, or analytics,
- 10+ years in senior leadership roles managing large data teams.
- Proven success in developing and implementing enterprise-wide data and analytics strategies at scale, ideally within healthcare, healthtech, pharmacy, or logistics-focused organizations.
- Deep expertise in machine learning, predictive modeling, and AI applications in business contexts.
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture, cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Snowflake), and analytics tools (e.g., Looker, dbt, Airflow).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate technical insights into business impact.
- Proficiency with collaboration and productivity tools (Slack, GSuite, Jira, etc.).
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, or related).
- Experience scaling data and analytics functions in high-growth or multi-site organizations.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data systems, EHRs, or pharmacy fulfillment workflows.
- Demonstrated success in leveraging AI and data science to transform customer or patient experiences.
- Passion for mission-driven work that improves healthcare access, affordability, and outcomes.

Additional Physical Job Requirements
Physical requirements for this role include the ability to work at a computer terminal with monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, and reach for equipment and supplies, make frequent repetitive motions required to operate a computer that include the wrists, hands and fingers, and lift, carry, push, pull, and move light objects up to 20 pounds. The role also requires the ability to effectively communicate through verbal interactions, discern auditory information, and visually perceive details to perform essential job functions.
This position requires occasional travel therefore you must be able to sit for extended periods of time on airplanes and/or in vehicles, lift and carry luggage independently, navigate long distances through airports and other travel locations independently, and adjust to different time zones and climates.

Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $240,000-$285,000
Commission Eligible: No
Travel: Yes - Required up to 15% of the time
Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington (WA), and Wisconsin.
Employment Authorization Requirement: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. At this time, Alto is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa.

Employees are also provided flexible vacation time, accrued paid sick time, 11 paid holidays (seven for Pharmacy and Care team members), and eight weeks of paid parental leave for eligible employees.
