Wages
$86,500 - $92,000 annual salary
Benefits
Paid vacation and sick time, plus 12 paid holidays per year; medical, dental, and vision insurance offerings; Health Savings Account (HSA); There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee; and Interact offers a retirement plan for its employees where employees can make contributions to their account.
Schedule
This position’s schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm and will include some evenings and weekends. After six months, there may be an opportunity for one to two days per week of virtual work.
A Typical Day in the Life…
A typical day as Interact’s Director of Finance and Operations provides an opportunity to ensure smooth implementation of Interact’s business management. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Overseeing Interact’s operations, finance, and infrastructure to ensure smooth and sustainable daily functioning across all departments.
- Serving as part of the senior leadership team, including collaborating with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop strategic and operational plans, manage policies and procedures, and represent Interact within the larger community.
- Supervising key administrative staff to support effective internal operations.
- Overseeing transportation and facilities management to maintain safe and efficient environments.
- Maintaining compliance with licensing and safety standards to uphold regulatory requirements.
- Providing hands-on financial leadership, including working closely with accounting staff and external auditors to manage budgets, monitor cash flow, and ensure financial health.
- Partnering with MACC for HR and IT services to ensure operational support and continuity.
- Overseeing benefit administration, facilities upkeep, and records management to support organizational infrastructure.
- Fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture through strong supervision and staff development.
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Nonprofit Management.
- You hold a Master’s degree (preferred).
- You have five years of experience in a similar position in a nonprofit, foundation, or government setting.
- You are experienced with DHS and/or in disability services.
- You have five years of management experience in an administrative or operations capacity, or you have an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- You have the ability to model behavior that is consistent with Interact’s mission and adhere to high standards.
- You have knowledge of internal financial control procedures to safeguard assets.
- You have a background in performing or visual arts and working with adults with disabilities (preferred).
- You have knowledge of finance and agency investment policies to ensure financial performance and safeguard principal.
- You have knowledge of human resource operations and compliance related to hiring, retention, and termination of employees.
- You have the ability to apply analytical skills and incorporate results into operational and strategic plans.
- You have knowledge of DHS and state regulations to ensure compliance.
- You have knowledge of, and the ability to use, computers and other technical resources to effectively accomplish work, including advanced skills in Microsoft suite of products.
- You communicate effectively and persuasively, orally and in writing, at interpersonal or group levels.
- You have the ability to travel to various locations for meetings and events.
- You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
