Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Java Low Latency Trading) - Vice President. Citi Equities Technology organization is looking for an experienced, senior technologist to join the Equities Electronic Trading team to help take our platforms to the next level. The successful candidate will be responsible for design, development, and delivery of Citis next gen low latency exchange connectivity and DMA platforms. This senior engineer will work in a region-focused team while collaborating with a global team. Close collaboration with the product development team, other development teams, production support, and quality assurance is required to ensure high-quality deliveries. The ability to align with global strategy is important for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various development teams to achieve established goals.
  • Apply in-depth design, development, and support skills to the low latency trade execution platform.
  • Partner with the business on product development and improving application resiliency and latency.
  • Maintain and improve testing frameworks, development tools, and environments used to support platform delivery.
  • Design and implement test cases for trading functions.
  • Drive Agile practices, Continuous Integration, and AI tooling adoption.
  • Follow essential procedures and best practices and contribute to defining standards.
Qualifications
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry with strong technical knowledge in core Java (preferably JDK17).
  • Experience with FIX protocol or binary protocols for market access is desired.
  • Experience using low latency software design and mechanical sympathy techniques to achieve low latency, high throughput trading platforms.
  • Experience with microservices-based architecture.
  • Experience developing automated trading platforms.
  • Strong understanding of automated testing techniques.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and CI processes; AI tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot) is desirable.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present and grasp complex concepts in a multicultural environment.
Education
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

Salary Range (Primary Location Full Time): $142,320.00 - $213,480.00
