Pharmacy Operations Manager

- Accountable for performing day?to?day non?clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Under pharmacist supervision, supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers following company policies, state and federal laws, and ethical standards.
- Responsible for selection, scheduling and development of pharmacy technician personnel, leading training, coaching and performance management; make decisions regarding discipline and termination.
- Assist pharmacist in patient care including registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting and verification (where allowed by law).
- Complete patient and physician calls under pharmacist supervision (where allowed by law).
- Assist with healthcare service offerings such as vaccines, health screenings and other services allowed by law.
- Delegate, direct and assign non?clinical pharmacy work in accordance with company policies and laws.
- Prepare and file required reports and records for the company and government agencies.
- Manage core pharmacy workflow, coordinate daily schedules, recommend hour allocation and ensure pharmacy cleanliness and adequate supplies.
- Ensure compliance and execution of all business administrative activities and inventory management tasks that do not require pharmacist licensure.
- Drive new technology/process roll?out, champion change and engage the team around action planning.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of pharmacy department equipment and record?keeping security safeguards.
- Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policy during all prescription?dispensing activities and communicate prescription errors to the pharmacist.
- Accurately process insurance claims, follow?up with insurers and conduct or participate in third?party audits.
- Assist Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality and customer service.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Resolve customer complaints, respond to requests timely and answer non?clinical questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices.
- Develop strong relationships by anticipating customer needs and proactively offering services.
- Enhance customer experience by increasing focus on healthcare services.
- Assist pharmacist with patient care functions as described above.
- Delegate non?clinical work under pharmacist supervision, ensuring on?time completion and accountability.
- Prepare and file required reports and records.
- Manage core workflow, schedule, allocate hours and keep pharmacy orderly and stocked.
- Monitor inventory and manage annual inventory preparation.
- Complete non?clinical patient calls.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Manager on record?keeping and security safeguards.
- Lead performance management of technicians, making discipline and termination decisions as needed.
- Hire, onboard, train and schedule technicians; hold them accountable for timely training.
- Identify knowledge gaps and support training, either hands?on or through learning modules.
- Monitor licensure, registration and certification status of all pharmacy staff.
- Ensure proper recruitment, retention and training procedures per policy and laws.
- Maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or required state certification.
- Maintain and enhance current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
- Obtain necessary certifications and education credits, such as LTMP e?modules, as required by the company.
- Seek professional development and enlist constructive feedback and mentorship.
- Communicate with the pharmacy team and relay messages from the support center or other key emails.
- Participate in key store/pharmacy meetings, including 5?minute meetings and weekly check?ins with the Store Manager.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).
- Previous people?management or leadership experience.
- Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.

Salary Range: Hourly $22.50 $31.00. Salary within this range will depend on geography, skills, experience and other factors. This role will remain open until filled.
