Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Dispensary Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers within the dispensary. This position requires a proactive approach to security, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations while providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Monitor the premises through regular patrols and surveillance systems, including CCTV, to deter and detect any suspicious activities.

Enforce security protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of all individuals on-site.

Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or alarms, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate situations as needed.

Conduct thorough inspections of the facility to identify potential security risks or vulnerabilities.

Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying and reporting theft or fraudulent activities.

Provide first aid and CPR assistance when necessary, ensuring the well-being of all individuals in the dispensary.

Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when required, maintaining clear communication regarding any incidents or concerns.

Experience

Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is preferred.

Familiarity with surveillance equipment and loss prevention strategies is highly desirable.

Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus; training may be provided for qualified candidates.

Dispensary Security Guard

The Dispensary Security Guard is vital for maintaining the safety and security of the facility, including employees, customers, and inventory. Key responsibilities include:

Monitoring all entry and exit points.

Preventing theft, loss, and unauthorized access.

Verifying customer IDs and managing the check-in process.

De-escalating conflicts and maintaining order.

Ensuring strict compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations.

Security Officers must provide a welcoming, professional, and customer-service-oriented presence while upholding a secure environment.

Applicants must be over the age of 21, have a valid Security Officer Certificate of Registration (SORA).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Access Control & Compliance: Maintain a strong security presence at all entry/exit points. Verify customer IDs, check-in customers using POS software, and ensure strict compliance with all state cannabis regulations.

Surveillance & Patrol: Monitor surveillance cameras and conduct routine security patrols both inside and around the dispensary premises to proactively deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry.

Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations and intervene in customer disputes or disruptive behavior with a calm and professional demeanor.

Incident Response: Respond promptly to all alarms, emergencies, or security breaches, coordinating with local law enforcement when necessary.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed incident reports, visitor logs, and comprehensive security records.

Staff Support: Assist with securing cash handling procedures, store opening/closing procedures, and product deliveries.

Training & Feedback: Educate staff on emergency and safety protocols (e.g., evacuation plans), and provide leadership with feedback for continuous security improvements.

Atmosphere: Uphold a friendly yet authoritative presence to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements

Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Licensing: Must possess a valid New Jersey (NJ) security officer license.

Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Compliance: Ability to comply with all state and federal regulations for working in the cannabis industry.

Professional Experience & Technical Skills

Experience: Previous cannabis industry security experience is a plus.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with New Jersey cannabis security regulations is highly preferred.

Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using security systems, surveillance cameras, and radio communication equipment.

Information Handling: Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
