Job Title: Sr. Project Manager/ Scheduler
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: 18 Month Contract-to-Hire
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and self?motivated Sr. Project Manager/ Scheduler to support the development and execution of complex, resource?loaded schedules for manufacturing IT systems projects. This role requires individuals who can work independently, ask insightful questions, and quickly build logic?driven schedules that align with key project milestones and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage integrated project schedules with 10,000+ lines, coordinating across multiple teams and deliverables.
- Utilize collaborative scheduling tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, and Primavera, and provide recommendations based on project complexity and resource needs.
- Leverage deep expertise in Primavera P6 to build, maintain, and analyze detailed schedules, ensuring alignment with resource availability and project timelines.
- Apply PMIs progressive elaboration methodology to build and refine schedules as project details evolve.
- Track project progress using metrics such as % complete and deliverables accomplished, tailored to different organizational levels.
- Conduct weekly schedule reviews to assess project status and forecast future performance.
- Maintain daily schedule updates by proactively engaging with team members to ensure accuracy and alignment.
- Ensure schedules are resource?loaded and duration?based, enabling dynamic resource allocation to meet hard deadlines.
- Analyze resource capacity against project timelines and identify potential gaps or constraints.
- Integrate schedules with key manufacturing milestones including construction, engineering, commissioning, and GMP phases.
- Understand and schedule the full lifecycle of manufacturing IT systems projectsfrom business requirements to deployment and execution.
- Proven experience in project scheduling and project management within complex, multi?disciplinary environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing IT systems, including:
- MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
- Data Analytics
- CSV (Computer System Validation) and documentation (SOPs)
- Infrastructure
- QC Lab Equipment and Systems
- Ability to compare and evaluate scheduling tools for suitability in complex, resource?intensive projects.
- Familiarity with GMP pharma project phases such as demo runs, water runs, engineering runs, and first GMP runs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Self?starter mentality with minimal need for direction.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
