Job Purpose and Summary

As a DSP, you handle pharmacists scheduling gaps, under Pharmacy Manager (PM) and Rx District Leader (DL) guidance, and support pharmacy teams. While working in stores across the district youre accountable for supporting the pharmacys management, oversight, and operation, and the pharmacy crew.

Responsibilities

• Live our purpose by helping manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing.
• Travel the district to cover pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC); oversee pharmacy and acting as Pharmacy Managers proxy during bench shifts.
• Support safety and accurate prescription fulfilment by following and directing the pharmacy workflow and safety guardrails.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager day?to?day duties while being the sole or primary pharmacist?on?duty.
• Enhance patient experiences, showing empathy, coaching teams for compassionate care, collaborating with patients health teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues.
• Offer and deliver immunizations; engage Pharmacy Techs in learning to immunize.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, guiding teams on best practices with a focus on protecting cold?chain products.
• Keep flexible for scheduling and business, contributing to a safe, inclusive, engaging team dynamic.
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills as the industry evolves; seek learning opportunities to support patients.
• Provide pharmacist?delivered clinical care such as testing, prescribing services (COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where allowed, and empower teams to provide holistic care.
• Understand and comply with all federal, state, professional standards, ethical principles, CVS policies, controlled?substance dispensing and record?keeping, privacy, and intra?colleague safety.
  

Required Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state of the Store.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
  

Essential Functions

• Travel within a reasonable radius for business support.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance, including nights & weekends.
• Complete required training within the timeframe.
• Attention and Focus concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy.
• Customer Service & Team Orientation proactively help, read reactions, respond appropriately.
• Communication Skills verbal & written, active listening, full attention, asking questions.
• Mathematical Reasoning compute tablet numbers, days supply, bottle needs.
• Problem Resolution choose best course among options.
• Physical Demands mobility,standing,lifting, reaching, typing, visual acuity, lifting up to 20 lb, etc.
• Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor/Mgr.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 1?2 years related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
