Corporate Security Director

The Corporate Security Director will be responsible for providing oversight of all aspects of security operations. This individual will research and develop policies and emergency procedures, analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement, investigate and report on security issues as required. In addition, this position will act as the corporate security subject matter expert and provide hands on assistance to sites. The incumbent will be expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem-solving within a matrixed environment and be able to lead through influence.

What You Will Experience In This Position:
  • Implement overall security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, and customers at facilities and the security of property and assets.
  • Create scalable security solutions for all locations with global cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching and education to develop and maintain an effective security conscious environment.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps.
  • Implement training and operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence and other emergency events.
  • Manage and maintain status of security management systems, security requirements, alarms and other physical security measures required at properties.
  • Deliver education programs and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff are adequately informed to manage potential security issues.
  • Support investigations and critical event responses in coordination with HR, legal internally and externally law enforcement and other official agencies.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with appropriate local, state and federal law enforcement officials.
  • Develop mechanism for the collection and analytics of security related data.
  • Attend meetings, professional seminars, or conferences to stay ahead of changes in executive legislative directives or new technologies impacting security operations.
  • Perform special duties as required and assigned.
You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree required with emphasis on security, law enforcement, criminal justice and/or a related field; or a satisfactory equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Ideally, advanced degrees or certifications, i.e., Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Ideally, 10+ years security, law enforcement and/or a satisfactory equivalent combination of knowledge and experience with demonstrated leadership effectiveness.
  • Knowledge and experience with security systems, cameras, visitor management systems, access controls and other security programs and related equipment required.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and influence without authority.
  • Ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of the role: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent sitting and standing with occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching/stooping.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety and security laws, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to formulate, develop, implement and supervise a multi-scale security program at international levels.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required up to 25% of the time, including various locations ranging from corporate buildings, offices, and manufacturing sites.

Pay Transparency: nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range: $172,900.00 - $257,000.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
