Role SummarySeeking a Senior MEP Project Manager based in the Columbus, Ohio area. This on?site position requires expert?level knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing/Fire Protection (MEP) systems design and the ability to coordinate all MEP disciplines throughout construction. Ideal candidates have experience on large data center or similar commercial projects, with a proven track record of effective project delivery and client satisfaction.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee on?site project activities and attend regular and ad hoc meetings.
- Serve as main contact for client, design team, consultants, trade partners, and construction team across MEP disciplines.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, real estate developers, and building operators.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules covering all phases from engineering to closeout.
- Use document management systems to track MEP scope and costs.
- Handle CM and subcontractor change order submissions and project communications.
- Address field issues promptly and ensure responses from responsible parties.
- Monitor and redirect RFIs to ensure timely resolution.
- Support design teams with DOB PAA filing schedules and related documentation.
- Conduct site walks, document deficiencies, and issue corrective action reports.
- Assist with commissioning schedules, equipment delivery coordination, and punch list management.
- Demonstrate advanced MEP design knowledge, review documentation efficiently, and coordinate design documents among trades.
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management required; MS preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering, construction management, cost control, or related fields.
- Expert knowledge of MEP systems and design practices.
- Experience in data center construction strongly preferred.
- Strong skills in contract and subcontractor estimating review.
- Proficiency in building codes, local laws, energy codes, and DOB/utility standards.
- Minimum OSHA 30?hour certification required or obtainable upon hiring.
- Must be available to work onsite full?time in the Columbus, Ohio area.
- Pay grade: 27.
