Location: Kent Campus Hospital

General SummaryThe Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.
Responsibilities- Provide direct, professional nursing care to a specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
- Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
- Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
- Administer medications following the five rights of medication administration.
- Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
- Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
- Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
- Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
- Demonstrate standards of excellence with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
- Education: RN Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Credential(s): Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS / PALS may be required per managers direction and timeframe; commit to seeking specialty certification within the indicated timeframe during interview
- Experience: Acute care RN experience preferred
- Education: BSN
- Credential(s): Certification related to the position, if applicable
- Experience: Critical Care RN experience
