Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team. You will be responsible for greeting and checking in patients, recording vital signs, and preparing them for examination and treatment. Additionally, you will conduct basic lab tests and ensure accurate documentation of results. You will also educate patients about their conditions and treatments, handle administrative tasks, and assist physicians and nurses in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and check in patients.
• Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, height, weight, and O2 levels.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
• Conduct basic lab tests and ensure accurate documentation of results.
• Provide instructions on follow-up care and educate patients about their conditions and treatments.
• Update patient medical records and schedule appointments.
• Handle billing and insurance claims.
• Manage supply inventory.
• Assist physicians and nurses with various tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in medical terminology and medical assisting.
• Experience with case management and healthcare triage.
• Ability to verify insurance details.
• Competence in using Epic and maintaining medical records.
• Strong appointment scheduling skills.
• RMA or CMA certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Must have a Medical Assistant Diploma.
• EPIC experience is a plus.
• Experience working in a fast-paced setting is preferred.

Work Environment:

This position is based in specialty offices, specifically in Neurology. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Employees benefit from growth opportunities, competitive pay, and the potential for career advancement in management. Tuition reimbursement is also available.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, CT. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
