Qualifications and requirements

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities.

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • No minimum experience required
  • Documentation of current State Issued Nursing Assistant Certification or completion of Medical/Surgical semester from a school of nursing program with a B average or better or licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician or documentation of a current State issued Emergency Medical Technician License or documentation of having worked as a Military Medic/Healthcare Specialist (DD214) or similar military issued document needed to validate training or documentation of having successfully completed a Patient Care Technician Program and hold a current Patient Care Tech National Certification (NHA, NCCT or NHCWA).
  • Patient Care Tech will be required to take and pass Memorial Medical Center's Patient Care Tech course within 90 days of hire.
  • Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
