Remote Customer Service Representative

Customer Service Specialists are responsible for understanding the entire front-end process to ensure successful service for patients. This role involves answering inbound calls, making outbound calls, verifying information, creating orders, and scheduling patients for equipment as ordered by their doctor. Specialists also educate patients on financial responsibilities when applicable. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain knowledge of current products and services
- Answer calls and emails promptly, meeting performance goals
- Document all call information per SOP
- Answer questions about products, services, and general inquiries
- Process orders, route calls, and follow up as needed
- Review documentation for accuracy
- Complete insurance verification (eligibility, coverage, co-insurance, deductibles)
- Obtain pre-authorizations and process physician orders
- Navigate multiple EMR systems for documentation
- Enter and review pertinent information in EMR systems
- Communicate trends with insurance companies to management
- Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer guidelines
Qualifications Must Have:
- 1+ years of call center experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Healthcare experience
- Inbound call handling experience
- CNA or nursing home background
Work Environment:
- Hours: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM CST or 10:00 AM 7:00 PM CST
- Most shifts are MondayFriday; some TuesdaySaturday
- 100% remote must have a quiet workspace
Job Type & Location:
This is a contract to hire position based out of Columbia, SC.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
