Preventative Maintenance Technician

The Preventative Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical equipment. This role involves an 80/20 split between mechanical and electrical tasks and includes on-the-job training for all responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Follow a preventive maintenance schedule and assist with troubleshooting equipment.
- Observe equipment in operation to locate potential problems using all senses.
- Examine parts and assemblies to identify changes in dimensions or imperfections.
- Dismantle equipment to access damaged or worn parts.
- Repair or replace worn or defective parts and adjust functional parts for optimal performance.
- Test equipment performance and ensure corrective actions are thorough.
- Install power wiring and conduit for newly installed equipment and connect and test power wires.
- Troubleshoot up to 480v using meters and electrical test equipment.
- Program and troubleshoot AC and DC drive systems and align motors to manufacturer specifications.
- Replace faulty components such as boards and cables, initiate purchase requisitions, and complete necessary paperwork.
- Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic parts or components.
- Create finished metal products from sheet piping or structural steel and perform MIG/TIG, brazing, cutting/burning, and stick welding.
- Change extruder screws and barrels according to manufacturer's recommendations.
- Utilize metal shear, bender, band saw, and plasma cutter while adhering to company safety rules and procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping levels in the Maintenance department and work area.
Essential Skills:
- GED or high school diploma
- 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Mechanical aptitude (e.g., experience as an auto mechanic)
- Experience troubleshooting motors, pumps, and pneumatics
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Experience with 480v electrical systems
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- PLC troubleshooting experience

Work Environment:
This position operates in a non-climate controlled environment with two available first shifts: Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Sunday, from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Candidates must be open to working Saturdays or responding to call-ins. Compensation includes 1.5x pay for call-ins, with a minimum of two hours paid even if the work is shorter. After two hours of call-in work, pay returns to the standard rate.

This is a permanent position based out of Fremont, OH.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $56160.00/yr. They start earning PTO after 90 days and will get two weeks vacation after 1 year. Benefits go in effect the following month they start.
