Resort Maintenance Technician

Resort maintenance technicians perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of Sun's resorts. They conduct building maintenance repairs and are responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of property grounds, facilities, streets, equipment & various utility systems. Maintenance technicians provide excellent customer service to prospective & current guests and residents at all times, and may assist with site setups to ensure timely arrivals and departures of resort guests and residents.

Job duties include:

• Emptying trash, shoveling, performing maintenance or repair duties, using power equipment, drills or other hand tools
• Completing minor repairs to rental units and facilities as needed
• Completing routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs, plumbing, sewage, construction & street repair
• Inspecting irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly, repairing as necessary
• Inspecting playground area and equipment, pool/spa area, and other recreational amenities to ensure everything is in good condition, making minor repairs as needed
• Ensuring the resort is presentable and inviting at all times and that it adheres to Sun's curb appeal standards
• Regularly treating for weeds, weed whipping, raking leaves, planting flowers/shrubs, spreading mulch/woodchips/stones, trimming shrubs and hedges, cutting down and removing tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions, and performing other lawn care services as necessary
• Ensuring trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets on a daily basis. Empties common area trash containers as needed
• Cleaning resort amenities which may include clubhouses, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, resort offices, restrooms, laundry areas, bath houses, and maintenance garage
• Maintaining vacant sites, including strap-downs & removal of trash and debris
• Removing snow from community streets, parking lots, building entrances and other areas Sun is responsible for maintaining, where applicable. May include using a truck with a plow, spreading salt, snow blowing, and/or shoveling
• Inspecting tied down RVs, park models, and mobile homes for cleanliness, rust, damage, and other problems prior to permitting their sale
• Completing checklists of physical condition of resort sites prior to and after guest occupancy
• Assisting Resort Manager with supervision of service contractors
• Reporting all maintenance issues and concerns that may be identified while performing daily duties to manager
• Ensuring all resort streets and public access routes are free of hazards
• Maintaining resort pool(s), testing chemical levels, and adjusting appropriately, where applicable
• Maintaining resort vehicles and equipment
• Following safety procedures while performing duties, including safely operating vehicles when moving from site to site & picking up supplies
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 6 months in previous maintenance experience in a campground or RV resort (Preferred)
• Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work
• Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
• General knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, and grounds maintenance
• Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
• Ability to provide legible written reports
• Ability to work well independently as well as on a team
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and internet
• Availability to respond to resort needs during non-business hours while on-call
