Description

Primary Function:

Long Wave Inc. is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer to support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements management, and architecture development within Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers seeking to grow in a structured environment with mentorship and hands-on training in Cameo and systems engineering best practices.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Apply MBSE methodologies to support system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities.

2. Requirements Management: Develop, document, and manage system requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure traceability and compliance with DoD standards.

3. System Design and Integration: Assist the design and integration of complex systems, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.

4. Verification and Validation: Assist with and execute test plans to verify and validate system performance against requirements.

5. Technical Documentation: Assist and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test plans.

6. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and project management, to ensure successful project delivery.

7. Compliance: Ensure all systems and processes comply with DoD regulations and standards.

8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions:

Employee will be working within an office environment. Employee may be expected to travel on occasion to locations where specific PPE or attire is necessary.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Exposure to MBSE concepts and tools (Cameo experience preferred).
  • Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is preferred.
  • US Citizenship and Eligibility for a DoD Clearance is required.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience with DoD acquisition processes, lifecycle management, and air vehicle (aircraft) integration
  • Tools: Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools, and experience with Agile development methodologies.
