The 61st Street Service Corporation, provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors. This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors' practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties.

Job Summary:

Inspects and functionally operates all endoscopy equipment and supplies, electrical power instruments and audiovisual equipment to ensure optimum safety and performance. Retrieves and labels all specimens during endoscopic procedures. Assists the physician and RN in the procedure rooms of the endoscopy suite under the direction of the Endoscopy Nurse Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Stock, clean and prepare rooms.
  • Hang, set up, troubleshoot and test function of endoscopes (suction, air/water, irrigation, etc.)
  • Assist physician in obtaining biopsies using forceps, snares, polyp traps, nets, electrocautery, stool aspiration, and deploying clips; assist RN in injections and tattooing.
  • Number and label specimens, confirm all tissue is in specimen jar, label pathology requisition, review with RN and/or physician as needed.
  • Perform bedside cleaning of scope, utilizing enzymatic and transports soiled scope to the decontamination room.
  • Perform leak testing and cleaning of scop.
  • Reprocess scopes using Automated Endoscope Reprocessor (AER), perform manual high level disinfection if necessary.
  • Test concentration of Rapicide and keep printed receipts and document all in the Scope Log at the end of the day.
  • Change air, water and vapor filters, and perform waterline sanitization when scheduled for the AER, documenting in the AER Maintenance Log.
Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an approved Nurses Assistant, Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician program
  • Training in endoscopy equipment cleaning processes
  • At least 2 years of experience as Endoscopy Technician
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate/license

Hourly Rate Ranges: $23.40 - $36.11

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
