Overall Purpose

To maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, including refrigeration and three-phase electrical systems, while supporting safe, efficient, and reliable foodservice operations.

Essential Functions
  • Develops and implements a preventative maintenance plan for kitchen equipment and performs work on schedule in compliance with state and local food codes.
  • Troubleshoots and performs repairs and/or maintenance on all foodservice equipment (hot, cold, wet, dry).
  • Independently organizes, prioritizes, and manages assigned help tickets and workload.
  • Identifies and promptly reports any safety issues that may impact facilities, staff, students, or visitors.
  • Works effectively with district personnel and outside contractors.
  • Maintains appropriate tools and parts inventory on the district vehicle.
  • Promotes positive relationships and represents the district in a professional manner.
  • Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with Walton County dress policies.
  • Performs other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
Requirements
  • Minimum three years of documented experience working on commercial kitchen equipment, including refrigeration and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Proficient computer skills, including use of internet-based and desktop programs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to emergency after-hours repair needs.
  • Ability to read and interpret operations and maintenance documentation, including building plans and mechanical drawings.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Overhead lifting as required.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments (hot, cold, wet, loud).
  • Must be able to pull and back a trailer as required.
Education/Training
  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Trade school diploma or certificate preferred
  • EPA Universal Certification required
