Job Title: Estimator - Commercial Construction

Location: Duluth, GA

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Chief Estimator / Preconstruction Executive

Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to support our preconstruction and bidding efforts. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing drawings and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor pricing, and preparing estimates for a variety of commercial construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, communication, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other bid documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for all scopes of work.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Assist with preparation of bid packages and proposal documents.
  • Maintain and update estimating software, cost databases, and historical pricing information.
  • Identify scope gaps, cost risks, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Work closely with the project management team and senior estimators during preconstruction.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews.


Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating or preconstruction.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, iSqFt, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, materials, and methods.
  • Excellent math, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple estimates at once.
  • Familiarity with commercial project types including retail, industrial, medical, and office is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform site visits to understand existing conditions and gather information for estimates.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
