For twenty years, the Botstiber Foundation has worked with CARE to implement water delivery systems in remote villages in Southeast Asia by connecting water sources to villages and homes. By linking water to villages, poverty and disease is alleviated so that communities can grow and prosper. Earlier this year, Botstiber re-branded its program in Southeast Asia as “VillageHaus” and is now looking to expand the program. Key Responsibilities
We seek a program manager to work about 20 hours per week at a competitive salary. The program manager will operate the program in concert with the trustees and the program consultant. He or she will identify strategic needs; craft messaging and outreach for the program; develop partnerships with NGOs and other organizations in the United States, Laos and Southeast Asia; advise or obtain advice on possible fundraising options (although the program is now fully funded); and work closely with the communications director to facilitate videos, podcasts, blogs and social media to increase awareness of the program.
Qualifications Include
- Understanding of, or experience managing, international development or humanitarian programs, ideally focused on rural development, WASH, poverty alleviation or community infrastructure; an ability to work part-time while still setting priorities, planning and overseeing projects; and the ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder programs.
- Ability to identify strategic needs and gaps in program design; develop medium- and long-term programmatic goals; and translate goals into concrete actions and priorities.
- Ability to craft program messaging for various audiences and have some familiarity with mission-focused storytelling.
- Travel to Southeast Asia and within the US may be necessary
