Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Urology (UTI Clinic)

The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team and manage our specialized UTI Clinic. This role offers a focused opportunity to provide expert care for patients with urinary tract infections while also supporting the broader urology practice.
Position Highlights:
• Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule
• Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
oUpon completion of onboarding and training, four 10-hour days may be available.
• Dedicated UTI Clinic within a busy academic urology practice
• Average of 1,700 UTI diagnoses managed annually
• Opportunity to combine scheduled visits with participation in the rotation for same-day urgent add-ons
Responsibilities:
- Manage diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections for new and established patients
- Review and interpret urine cultures to guide treatment decisions
- Conduct virtual visits to review test results, discuss treatment options and provide patient education
- Order and interpret additional diagnostic testing when indicated
- Support preoperative evaluations by reviewing and managing pre-surgical urine cultures
- Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Participate in the rotation for urgent urology add-on visits, which may include cases such as hematuria, elevated PSA, kidney stones, or acute infections
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record
- License and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner or physician assistant in New York State
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Familiarity working in electronic medical records. Epic experience a plus.
- Collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment.
- Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
- Competitive base salary range $117,766-$138,548 with additional incentive bonus opportunity
