Position Summary:

We are seeking a results driven Kitting Technician to support the Maintenance Support Device (MSD) V4 program by assembling, packaging, and preparing complete systems in accordance with approved Bills of Material (BOM), and technical data. This position requires strong attention to detail, disciplined adherence to AS9100 and government standards, and accurate documentation of serialized and IUID-tracked components. The Kitting Technician works within a production and warehouse environment, ensuring each MSD-V4 kit meets configuration, quality, and schedule requirements prior to final inspection or shipment. This position is contingent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Kit Assembly & Documentation
  • Build complete MSD-V4 kits per BOM, traveler, and current configuration revision.
  • Verify all required components, documentation, and accessories are included; ensure kits are inspection ready.
  • Record and apply serial numbers, warranty labels, and IUID markings per technical requirements.
  • Complete and maintain travelers, packing lists, and certification packets for government review.
  • Follow all packaging requirements per MIL-STD-2073-1.
  • Material & Inventory Control
  • Supports storage and issues equipment, materials, supplies, and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse and/or kitting area.
  • Track materials and inventory in warehouse management systems; perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Assists in preparing and assembling completed kits with required components for shipment.
  • Support shipping and receiving, storing, issuing, and movement of parts, kits, and assemblies.
  • Participate in unloading/loading trucks, verifying counts, palletizing, and routing materials for processing.
  • Quality & Technical Verification
  • Supports task requiring knowledge/experience/expertise not held by less experienced technicians.
  • Conduct basic verification and functional checks of kits or components to ensure operability prior to packaging.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, assist in root-cause identification, and support corrective actions.
  • Maintain configuration control; halt work and notify supervision when discrepancies or engineering changes arise.
  • Support audits, in-process inspections, and documentation reviews.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Adhere to government standards as well as the company's safety, AS9100 and QMS policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Follow all safety, PPE, and 5S/housekeeping practices to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
  • Strive to reduce hazardous waste and comply with environmental and local regulations.
  • Handle and safeguard U.S. Government property in compliance with FAR 52.245-1 and company policy.
  • Teamwork & Communication
  • Support team production goals, communicate shortages or issues promptly to supervision.
  • Collaborate with Production Lead, Quality, and Engineering personnel to resolve kit-build or configuration issues.
  • Provide input for process improvements and participate in cross-training initiatives.
  • Reinforce the mission, values, and culture of SPS in all daily activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or military training preferred (i.e. MOS 92A, 92Y, supply and logistics experience).
  • Minimum 3-6 years of recent experience in warehousing, inventory, or technical assembly of systems or kits.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, with a strong ability to document processes and produce reports via assigned tracking systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, climb ladders, and work with small components (with or without reasonable accommodation).
  • U.S. Citizenship able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
