Summary:
The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop repeatable and reproducible test methods on optical measurement equipment (Keyence automated inspection routines).
• Design and create inspection fixtures using SolidWorks.
• Execute test method validations (Gage R&R) with Receiving Inspection personnel.
• Create test method procedures, and train and provide engineering support to Receiving Inspection on component test methods.
• Provide feedback to R&D and Design Assurance on test method measurement output and ability to measure and validate critical features on drawings.
• Create test method validation protocol and report documents.
Skills:
• Proficient knowledge of test method development and validation.
• Knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
• Experience with Class II and/or Class III medical devices.
• Experience with vision system automated inspection routine creation.
• Experience with SolidWorks and 3D printing.
• Strong understanding of statistical techniques for new product development and Minitab.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 5-7 years experience required.
