BayCare is currently in search of our newest Acute Speech Therapist (Pool/PRN) who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. Speech Therapist Pool Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing function in medically complex patients.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and/or swallowing disorders.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational/physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare providers.

  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

  • Provide patient and family education related to communication strategies, feeding precautions, and recovery expectations.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning.

  • Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) and/or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), if credentialed.

  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and HIPAA policies.

  • Stay current with clinical best practices and continuing education relevant to acute care SLP.

  • Responsible for providing the appropriate level of clinical direction for therapists completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), Speech Language Pathology students and volunteers.

Requirements:

  • CCC-SLP (Speech Language Pathology)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • Speech Therapy License

  • Required Master's Speech Therapy

  • Preferred Doctorate Speech Therapy

  • 1 year Clinical Related is preferred
