Vice President, Clinical Director Behavioral Health

The Vice President, Behavioral Health provides executive leadership for growth, quality, experience, physician integration, consistency of practice, and outcomes across the service lines. Oversight currently includes 15 distinct programs in 5 primary locations, with numerous integrated sites and remote team members in our academic pediatric healthcare system.
The Vice President establishes the strategic vision with an entrepreneurial focus and guides planning, execution, communication, and sustainment of that strategy. They are responsible for expanding network influence, developing and building new programs, and formalizing an integrated approach to behavioral health throughout the system. They will serve as a "system-thinker" who prioritizes lean system performance requirements to reduce inefficiencies and improve care quality. The individual in this role will work across the organization and alongside key executives, as well as clinical, business, and operational leaders to identify opportunities in performance to create value ensuring these key services have the financial strength and operational efficiency to carry through its vision.
Highlighted Responsibilities include:
Oversee all aspects of performance, strategic planning, business planning and revenue generation within behavioral health services. Develop near and long term plans to drive innovative care delivery solutions to achieve business goals and increase services to children in the community
Responsible for evaluating market opportunities, proactively identifying changes in competitive landscape, developing, prioritizing, and collaborating with key constituencies to execute strategic planning and business development initiatives.
Responsible for fostering an environment to accelerate growth in clinical and translational research activities
Provide senior-level leadership, guidance, and oversight over strategic relationships. Provide primary leadership for physician transactions and integration across the system and represent behavioral health services locally, regionally, and nationally
Represents Children's Health in community activities including local, state and national regulatory committees, lobbying partnerships assuring that pediatric behavioral health concerns are addressed.
Lead governance structure for behavioral health services to function cohesively in the execution of its objectives. Build credibility and trust with physicians, executive leadership, and staff across the system. Facilitate collaborative communication and exchange of information among all stakeholders
Ensure development, adoption, and reporting of behavioral health service performance/ outcomes across the system, working with market leaders. Measure effectiveness and efficiency of processes. Draw upon internal and external standards, best practices, and benchmarks to:
(a) establish and monitor performance standards for key functions
(b) develop a series of work plans to advance the development of an integrated service line throughout the system
(c) direct corrective action to the plans as necessary
(d) Ensure that human, financial, and material resources are aligned to produce successful operational results and build a competitive advantage
(e) Achieve strong financial performance by generating new revenue, containing costs, increasing the quality of care and services offered to patients, and effectively managing operations
(f) Build, hire, and lead a highly effective leadership team. Promote and maintain a high level of collaboration with a highly matrixed team environment
Successful candidates for this role will possess the following:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in developing strategic partnerships, community, or professional network development, engagement and activation
At least 10 years' experience in administrative leadership in healthcare organizations
Master's or doctoral degree and relevant clinical experience working with children
