Position Overview: The Food and Beverage Assistant Manager at CRS supports the various food and beverage outlets including Hilltop, FARM, Boon Fly Café, and Banquets in overseeing daily front-of-house operations for the resort—ranging from public facing to our guest-exclusive, luxury dining venue—as well as select aspects of hotel pool food and beverage service. This role is highly service-focused and hands-on, playing a key part in executing Forbes-level service standards, supporting team performance, and ensuring a seamless guest experience. The Assistant Manager acts as a floor leader during service, assists with scheduling and training, and provides operational support during seasonal fluctuations, including limited assistance with banquet and event execution as needed.

This position is ideal for an emerging hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced, luxury environment and is eager to grow into a senior management role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily Operations & Service Leadership 

  • Support daily front-of-house operations at all outlets, ensuring polished, attentive, and consistent service during all dining periods. 
  • Serve as a visible floor leader during service, addressing guest needs, resolving service issues, and maintaining service flow. 
  • Assist in overseeing F&B service during operating hours, ensuring service standards, cleanliness, and guest engagement are upheld. 
  • Ensure all service areas are properly set, maintained, and aligned with CRS brand and Forbes service expectations.

Team Support & Training 

  • Assist in supervising hosts, servers, bartenders, and seasonal pool staff, reinforcing service standards and professionalism.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members, including service standards, product knowledge, and point-of-sale systems. 
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing service trainings to promote consistency and engagement. 
  • Model hospitality excellence and professionalism, setting the tone for service culture on the floor.

Service Excellence & Guest Experience 

  • Uphold Forbes Five-Star service standards through direct guest interaction and attention to detail. 
  • Proactively engage with guests to anticipate needs, gather feedback, and enhance overall satisfaction. 
  • Assist in monitoring guest feedback and communicating trends or opportunities for improvement to the management team.

Operational & Administrative Support 

  • Assist the Manager with scheduling support, daily checklists, opening and closing duties, and shift coverage. 
  • Support basic financial and operational controls, including comp tracking, cash handling procedures, and POS accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards across all food and beverage outlets and pool service areas.

Seasonal & Banquets Support 

  • During peak seasons, assist with event setup, breakdown, and service execution in coordination with the Hilltop Manager and Banquets team. 
  • Support cross-training initiatives that allow all staff to assist with banquets or other outlets as needed. 
  • Maintain service standards and professionalism when supporting event or offsite service.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2–4 years of supervisory or lead experience in upscale dining or luxury hospitality environments. 
  • Strong foundation in guest service, dining room operations, and floor leadership. 
  • Ability to lead by example and remain calm and professional in high-volume or seasonal service environments. 
  • Working knowledge of POS systems, basic labor controls, and service training practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented leadership style. 
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods. 
  • Familiarity with Forbes service standards and wine country dining culture is a plus.
