The Underground Drop Supervisor leads daily operations for underground cable drop installation, maintenance, and restoration activities. This position ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and coordination of field teams and subcontractors to meet production goals and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of underground drop technicians and contractors.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and daily direction to promote professional growth and strong performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions to maintain accountability and team engagement.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize daily work orders for underground cable drops in coordination with dispatch and construction teams.
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of underground drops, ensuring work meets company and client standards.
  • Inspect job sites for quality assurance, safety compliance, and technical accuracy.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and materials usage to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field or technical issues promptly to avoid service disruptions.
  • Enforce CUI's safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA, 811 locate laws, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and job completion status.
  • Submit daily and weekly production reports, safety documentation, and expense logs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in underground cable installation or related field, with 1+ year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of underground cabling practices, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and technical schematics.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-related software.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces as required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and meet company driving standards.
