Role Overview

As a founding AI engineer, you'll help Hobbes shape and rapidly scale their core product, from the UIs that support customers and the end users to the AI pipelines that drive routing, summarization, and next-best-action recommendations. You'll collaborate closely with the CTO, CEO, and Product/GTM Leads.

What You'll Do
  • Build key product surfaces and infrastructure that power our AI-native experience
  • Contribute across the stack - from web interfaces to backend systems and data flows
  • Explore and implement ways to leverage LLMs and ML to enable intelligent routing, contextual understanding, and proactive customer experiences
  • Help shape product direction, design decisions, and user experience
  • Move quickly from idea to implementation, learning from real usage and feedback
Who You Are
  • 5+ years of experience building production-grade web apps and services
  • Ex-founder or founding engineer at an early-stage startup
  • Comfortable working across the stack with technologies like TypeScript (React), Node, and Python
  • Experience working with LLMs and excited on how they can power smarter workflows and better user experiences
  • Familiar with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and designing scalable, reliable systems
  • A clear communicator who enjoys collaborating across product, design, and GTM
  • Prefers working in-person with a small, tight-knit team - we're based in SF [in Levi Plaza near the Ferry Building] and love building together
