Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Urgent Care, Full Time

As a part of OptumCare, the largest network of medical groups in the nation, MedExpress is seeking a Full Time Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Fort Myers, FL. At Optum, we are transforming healthcare nationally while providing Physician-led care locally.
Position Highlights:
- Open 8am- 8pm, 7 days per week
- Providers typically work 12 hour shifts
- Average patient load = 3-4 patients per hour
- Fully licensed medical team and support staff
- Responsibilities include:
- Suturing
- Splinting
- Initial interpretation with digital X-Rays
- Incisions and drainage

Required Qualifications:
- Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the ANCC/AANP or certified as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA
- 2+ years of experience working independently
- Unrestricted DEA license (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- Must be CPR certified (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- DOT certification (or ability to obtain within the first 60 days of employment)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical experience working as a provider in an emergency medicine or urgent care setting
- Willing and able to assist at other center locations in the area
