Senior Therapeutic Radiologic Technologist

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Therapist to join our dynamic Radiation Oncology department. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Manager of Medical Physics to ensure smooth operation and effective leadership during shifts.
As the Chief Therapist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Directly supervising radiation therapy technologists and ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Monitoring patient workflow and providing hands-on education and support to team members as needed.
- Coaching and guiding technologists while exemplifying professionalism and clinical excellence.
- Creating and managing staff schedules, including accommodating time-off requests.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology; ARRT credentialed as a registered radiation therapy technologist; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- Certification/Licenses: Current Radiology license in the State of New Mexico.
- Skills: Proficient technical knowledge of radiation therapy equipment, anatomy and physiology, treatment positioning, medical terminology, and quality assurance/control processes; basic computer skills.
- Experience: A minimum of seven years of clinical experience is required.
Supervision: You will be responsible to the Director / Manager of Medical Physics.
Environment: This role may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, irregular hours, and various patient care situations including infectious diseases and x-rays.
Physical Requirements: The successful candidate must be able to handle emergency situations, stand for prolonged periods, and safely lift, position, push, or transfer patients or equipment exceeding 50 lbs. Good manual dexterity and visual and hearing acuity within normal limits are essential.
