We are seeking a Bridge Design Engineer to join our Birmingham, AL team Come join us
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Delivers structural engineering plans, complex designs, and systematic testing methodologies to facilitate the planning, construction, and maintenance services associated with bridges, foundations, and other ancillary structures.
- Reviews client business requirements and project specifications to ensure construction projects are developed accordingly.
- Leads the delivery of projects following contract guidelines, meeting project schedules, managing assets within project budgets and producing quality products.
- Performs quality reviews and independent design reviews for bridges and other highway structures.
- Bachelor of Science - Civil Engineering
- 5 to 10 years minimum professional experience designing bridges
- Demonstrated experience leading and delivering complex projects
- Diverse body of work in the bridge design industry
- Experience coaching and leading lower level professionals
- Experience delivering quality projects following demonstrated QC/QA protocols
- AL Professional License
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel as required by client (typically 20%)
- Licensed Structural Engineer with successful completion of 16-hour exam preferred
- Master of Civil Engineering preferred
- Substantial Experience with AASHTO LRFD
- Experience with Bluebeam, ProjectWise, Bentley Engineering software, and ALDOT in house design software preferred
