Our client is looking to fill the role of Tax Manager. The Tax Manager is responsible for tax compliance, tax consulting, and efficiently preparing and reviewing clients' tax returns. The Tax Manager will develop and mentor staff, form long-term relationships with clients and generate new business.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of federal and state tax forms
  • Review individual, business, and other types of tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings for multiple types of clients
  • Provide feedback and guidance to improve the quality of tax filings and ensure adherence to firm standards.
  • Prepare and review tax projections and estimates
  • Review property tax returns
  • Financial statement preparation and review
  • Review complex tax matters and provide solutions for identified issues
  • Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
  • Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business
  • Develop and mentor tax associates
  • Keep up to date with tax and accounting technical developments.
  • Assume various responsibilities to assist with the overall management of the Firm.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or another relevant field required. Master's degree in accounting or taxation preferred
  • 5+ years of prior experience preparing and reviewing tax returns. Supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA certification required
  • Technical expert knowledge of tax law

Additional Skills:
  • Proficiency in UltraTax
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
  • Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical skills with detail orientation
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
