As a Manager, Software Engineering - Robotic Systems at Carbon Robotics, you will work alongside your software, mechanical and electrical peers to build AI and robotics products. In particular, you will be involved in the process of guiding a team to develop robotic systems software across our LaserWeeder and Autotractor products. You'll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products.

What you'll do:

  • Manage and lead a team of engineers to build a variety of robotic systems and algorithms.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams and product managers across multiple disciplines.
  • Resolve conflicts within the team and across collaboration interfaces
  • Oversee the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Manage resources and priorities so projects are successfully delivered on time.
  • Mentor, grow and provide technical guidance to engineers on the team.
  • Communicate deliverables effectively to the broader organization.
  • Foster a culture of fast iteration and work ethic worthy of a growing startup.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:
  • Experience managing and leading a software engineering team that has developed, deployed and maintained robots in a production environment.
  • Capable of operating as a Lead Software Engineer in your respective expertise.
  • Solid understanding of low level systems, robotic algorithms as well as robotic interactions with cloud systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in multidisciplinary organizations.
  • Lead by supporting an in office culture where collaboration drives innovation.
  • Field visits to Farms are a must.
  • BS+ in Computer Science or related field.

Carbon Robotics follows equitable hiring practices. Flexibility in our hiring process allows hiring of talent at levels different from what are posted. The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity - paying employees equitably for similar work.

Carbon Robotics' base salary pay range:

$195,000-$217,500 USD
