Job Title: Network Engineer
Location-Type: Onsite (4000 Jones Bridge Rd, Chevy Chase, MD 20815)

  • Initially everyday on-site for the first 2 months
  • If extended, can shift to a hybrid schedule (2-3 days onsite)
Start Date Is: ASAP
Duration: 6 months contract (potential to extend or convert)
Compensation Range: $45-$60/hr

Job Description:
Support network operations and connectivity for a leading Maryland biomedical research organization. Maintain and troubleshoot Arista and Cisco networking environments, ensuring seamless operations and connectivity.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Configure and activate network ports and switches in cluster mode (2-8 switch deployments).
  • Connect and manage switches via CloudVision (Arista cloud management platform).
  • Implement and troubleshoot OSPF and BGP routing within Arista.
  • Work with the security team to troubleshoot issues and add routes.
  • Maintain Client Aruba Wireless deployments, including troubleshooting Client and adding configurations.
  • Utilize SolarWinds for network management and monitoring.
  • Gather requirements for network design and expansion in new buildings.
  • Assist with Cisco CallManager on-prem migration to Webex.
Requirements:
  • Must-Haves:
    • 5-8 years of experience with Arista or Cisco networking.
    • CCNP - Routing & Switching certification.
    • Hands-on experience with Cisco CallManager and Cisco Webex Calling.
  • Nice-to-Haves:
    • Experience with SolarWinds for network monitoring.
    • Familiarity with both Arista and Cisco environments.
