WORK ENVIRONMENT - Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Mentor and train other engineers in the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide
  • Evaluate the existing systems and provide the technical direction to IT support staff
  • Plan and implement system automation as required for better efficiency
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure for the organization to be in line with company guidelines or SOP (standard operating procedure)
  • Ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Deploy, test, configure, secure, various physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers
  • Maintain infrastructure requirements including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, printers, datacenters, firewalls, VPNs, backup systems, phone systems, scanners, security equipment, and other physical hardware and software
  • Perform Patch management tasks: maintaining knowledge of available patches, deciding what patches are appropriate for systems, ensuring that patches are installed properly, testing systems after installation, and documenting all associated procedures
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
  • Plan, design, and rollout of various networked solutions with a focus on security and industry best practice
  • Develop proposals and recommendations for equipment, software, and services within company budgetary boundaries
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
  • Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Proven track record of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting systems.
  • Exceptional knowledge of networking technologies (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
  • Ability to manage projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills
  • Knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance/supervision
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and face-to-face)
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytic, and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of Windows OS including installation, configuration, functionality, and the ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Knowledge of business and management principles, budgeting, resources allocation, and human resources
  • Knowledge of network design, security, and TCP/IP
  • Cisco and Aruba switches, routers, access points and other hardware/software
  • Citrix

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field preferred

Experience: Five or more years of related experience preferred

Certificates & Licenses: (Preferred) Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft certifications in Windows Server and Windows Client

Other Requirements: Work hours may require adjustments based on system needs and will require on-call/remote responsibilities. Must be able to remote in from home or come on site when problems arise; Must be available to work nights and weekend when the need arises
